Wednesday activities for children

Creative, playful and educational moments for children in a safe collective setting.

Images de l’activité — Wednesday activities for children
Wednesday recreational activities provide children with a safe, enjoyable and stimulating space outside school hours.
The aim is to allow them to play, create, express themselves and meet other children in an organised and supportive environment.
The activities are designed as an alternative to excessive screen time and academic pressure.
They may include drawing, painting, cutting, collage, arts and crafts, group games, storytelling, music, movement games or thinking activities.
Children may also create small individual or collective projects.
The activity is not considered merely a way to occupy children’s free time.
It also has an educational and social dimension.
Children learn to cooperate, wait for their turn, share materials, follow instructions, express their ideas and calmly resolve certain difficulties.
Activities may also be organised around the seasons, nature, the environment, different cultures or events throughout the year.
Volunteers and activity leaders ensure that the activities are suitable for the participants’ ages.
They use appropriate materials and ensure that the rules, the other children and the premises are respected.
Every child is encouraged to participate, but no child is forced to take part in an activity in which they do not feel comfortable.
These meetings also help create connections between children from different backgrounds.
They give children an opportunity to get to know one another naturally through play, creativity and conversation.
The activity may also include small outdoor games, short outings or collective projects that are later presented at the **Café Social 57** premises.
